Description: 1954 Avia Military Presentation Wristwatch USAF Far East Conference Baseball Champions. Watch is not in working condition. This is an interesting item. The owner had been a batboy for the Philadelphia A’s as a boy. He joined the US Air Force, and played baseball for them. While stationed in Korea, his team won the 1954 Far East Area Baseball Championship. This watch was given to the players after Winning the Championship. The watch is not working. It is made by Avia, is Swiss made and has 17 jewels. There are two brass badges attached to the band, each has the date “1954” on it. One reads “Baseball Champions”, the other one reads “U.S.A.F. Far East Conference Area”. There is a clasp on the back of the badges, one is missing. The leather watch band is well-worn. There is a split in it (see photo). There is a serial number on the back of the stainless steel case “3510 1”. The watch is in a leather case, which I believe is original, but have no proof. Inside the watch case it reads “ZUIHODO, Nokkatsu Building, TOKYO”.
