Description: ~ I am pleased to offer this Vintage 1953 Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook First Edition ~Condition: Hardcovers have shelf wear, light stains and corner and edge wear/tears, but the the tears do not go all the way through. 5 Ring binding is solid with the plastic protection insert still intact. The cover page is missing, including the copyright information. With extensive research, I am dating this as 1953 (Pink Tabs), First Edition, Ninth Printing, due to the "01" on the spine under the word BOOK. The Ninth Printing is the only First Edition Printing I have found that has this number on the spine. There is a plastic clear "protection" page that I believe originally came with the cookbook. It is loose but included. There are also approx. 13 pages that are loose or partially loose. The majority of these are in the back index, with some having crinkles/stains from water. I see no other rips tears or writing. Generally the pages are very clean and in very good condition with only a few light stains noted throughout. Overall, a nice classic vintage cookbook for your collection.
