Description: Handsome large-format fold-out Mobil Oil highway map of Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Chesapeake Bay area, printed more than 64 years ago. The map opens to a generous 23" x 33" and has great detail on old road alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally. The Pennsylvania map is one side. On the reverse side there are inset plans of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, Bethlehem, Altoona, and Erie, along with the map of Delaware and the Chesapeake Bay area, south to Norfolk. The map was distributed by the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company in 1948 to promote its Mobilgas brand. The cover art features Pegasus, the company's distinctive flying red horse, and the map is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 8-4609-4. Condition: This Mobil map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. We are pleased to offer it with our unconditional, money-back guarantee.
