LIMITED EDITION: The original edition of this work was printed in five hundred and twenty-six copies, Hors Commerce on namely: One copy Vellum Handmade paper marked A, twenty-five copies Hors Commerce on Strathmore paper marked BàZ; fifty copies on Texpier Cortes paper and 450 copies on Corsican paper numbered from 51 to 500. RARE METER: 10/10 - Extremely Rare! Paperback copies of a similar version go for high hundreds if not thousands and they are a dime a dozen (only difference being their conditions). This version is almost impossible to find, in fact, I’ve only found it once before. Far rarer than the 1942 double signed version of “Flight to Arras” and far more treasured as a result. NOTE: This is the second such book of Antoine de Saint-Exupery that I have had the pleasure of selling in the past year. The last one (1942 Flight to Arras, twice signed) was beautiful but not quite as exquisite as this listing here currently. LANGUAGE: French PAGES: 253 MEASURES: 6.75” x 9” (Book), Slipcase slightly larger. CONDITION: BOOK COVER shows wear primarily on the spine as shown in pictures in the form of peeling and discoloration. INTERNAL PAGES have slight discoloration / yellowing. Inside cover page top middle is written in pencil the name of its owner “Kadar” (book belonged to the Kadar family - ruling party of Hungary at the time), inside title page has a few blemishes bottom right as pictured. All other pages appear to be in pristine or near pristine condition. I didn’t notice any other blemishes as I turned the pages but I may have missed one - so for my protection I will say one or two pages may have a small blemish somewhere that I missed. SLIPCASE shows signs of wear along edges and all sides - dust, peeling, cracking and discoloration. I’m an honest seller so try to go above and beyond on my conditioning notes for interested buyers.
