1940s Carolina Black Embroidered & Appliquéd Mexican Tourist Jacket Size XS

Description: This listing is for a 1940s Carolina Black Embroidered & Appliquéd Mexican Tourist Jacket Size XS. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s, and one of the most original designs I have collected. This particular jacket is one of my Museum quality jackets from the 1940s. During this time period, the jackets had no collars and had a combination of appliqués and embroidery with 3D packs on the donkeys and 3D braids and ornaments on the woman villager. It is a beautiful black colored wool felt with contrasting red & white appliqués and embroidery of villagers, donkeys, and a village night scene on the back that really pops against the black background. There is also red & white contrasting cross stitching on the edges of the jackets and around the pockets. This jacket is an incredible piece of Mexican Tourist history and has remained in exceptional condition for the last 80 years. There are no holes, stains or other issues with this jacket. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable.
