1940 John Haderlein Political Postcard ILLINOIS DEMOCRAT Chicago Postmaster

Description: 1940 Vintage ORIGINAL, postally USED John Haderlein Political Postcard ILLINOIS DEMOCRAT. This postcard is from his second candidacy for United States Representative of Illinois' 10th district. He served as the Postmaster of Chicago from 1948 to 1952. Measures 5 1/2" long X 3 1/4" wide. Postcard is in GOOD condition but, as can be seen in the scans, there is overall light age toning, slight soiling and a price and inventory number written on the back in pencil. Still displays GREAT. Please see scans. IN MY OPINION, PAPER EPHEMERA SUCH AS THIS IS FAR OVERLOOKED IN THE HOBBY. Haderlein, John — of Chicago, Cook County, Ill. Democrat. Candidate for Presidential Elector for Illinois; candidate for U.S. Representative from Illinois 10th District, 1920, 1940; postmaster at Chicago, Ill., 1948-52 (acting, 1948-49).
