Description: Being offered is a postal event cover. The cancellation states Barrow Alaska 1936. The envelope has a pictorial image of Will Rogers and Wiley Post, and is a memorial to their air plane crash which killed them both on August 15th, 1935, Point Barrow, Alaska. The envelope has a 6 cent air mail stamp. The envelope shows age and wearing. The piece has a crease in the middle, age related discoloration, soiling, and stains in places. It is addressed so went through the postal system. The envelope is approx. 9 1/2" by 4 1/8".
