Behind the hirsute shrubbery are two jolly tars of his majesty's Canadian ship S Aguenay. They are Gunner Albert Veale. Signalman Theodore Pattisno. Although the decision to grow the beards was a joint whim of the moment they are compelled by regulations to wear them fro six months. Before sprouting the whiskers they had to receive permission of their commanding officer. They are pictured aboard their ship, when that vessel and another Candadian ship, the CHamplain, arrived in Philadelphia Navy Yard, April 29th, en route to St. John New Brunswick, for the king's jubilee celebration.
