Description: This Andree Boullet card #18 from the 1927/1928 Amatller Automovilismo set has wear to the card but has no significant creasing. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card. This issue of the Amatller Automovilismo set consists of 23 cards featuring prominent drivers in Europe and the Catalonia region. Amatller is a chocolate company based in Barcelona, Spain, since 1797 and continues to operate today. They would include these cards with the purchase of their chocolate. The front of the card features the driver/riding mechanic while the back of the card has driver information written in Spanish. Andre Boillet was born in France in 1891. Driving for Peugeot, he won the Targa Florio in 1919. He drove in the Indianapolis 500 three times, from 1919-1921, with a best finish of 15th. He would win the Coppa Florio in 1922 and 1925. During a Hill Climb in 1932, he had an accident and would die in the hospital a few days later. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past.
