Zachariah Publisher: South African Railways and Harbours, Capetown (?)Publication Date: 1927Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on South Africa! A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique first edition is over 97 years old! In nice condition overall! Original publisher binding with rigid paper boards and cloth spine. Exterior shows some wear, including light rubbing, soiling and toning to the boards, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges. Binding is cocked as pictured. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Internally, this volume is in good shape as well. Both boards and all page groupings (excluding page 15/16, which has become detached from the binding) remain attached to the binding, though there is heavy cracking to the front hinge. The board remains securely attached despite cracking. Former owner’s signature and name plate visible to rear pastedown endpaper. Otherwise clean. The text block of this volume is clean throughout. Again, page 15/16 has become detached from the binding. Pages show typical age-related toning, and the odd spot of light foxing or soiling, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout! Nicely illustrated throughout with a map and full page photographic views. Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below. 332 pages. Measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide by 3/4 inch thick. A perfect addition to any fine collection or a wonderful gift for someone special! Price includes FAST, FREE shipping!
