Description: 1924 Autograph of the first black Olympic gold medalist William DeHart Hubbard from the University of Michigan. An extremely rare autograph this is one of two in the book we got and we have only seen two others EVER in 20 years of collecting! Autograph was removed from the album of 1924 Olympian Ben Rothwell (boxer) and he obtained it in person on the steam ship "America" as he and the other Olympians we on their way to compete in the games. The entire album was authenticated by PSA/DNA and sold through Heritage Auctions. No autograph was destroyed in removing these from the book and great care was taken to preserve the historical integrity of the signatures. Please see my other auctions for hundreds more signatures from this incredible archive of Olympic athlete signatures. NOTE: The first Photograph is the item you are buying. The other three photographs are to show the complete piece for provenance. Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
