Description: This rare and special tea gown trim features lingerie lace to create an inset or overlay piece which has the original green silk ribbon backing trim. The appliqué forms a bodice topper and then forms a lappet which has three gorgeous silk ribbon roses with two-sided ribbon bows and silk floss leaves. This is an astounding piece! Measures 34 inches around the bodice top (or 17 inches straight across then doubled) and the lappet falls 12 inches down with a width of about 5 1/2 inches. As you might know, tea gowns were stunning creations in silk and lace worn in layers and meant to be seen through in an ethereal illusionist way. The trims and lace were lavish on these gowns, and they were worn to afternoon events or 'at homes'. This trim is in perfect old store stock condition!
