Description: 1916 Zeenut (PCL) -CLIFF BLANKENSHIP (Salt Lake City) -Discovered WALTER JOHNSON. Blankenship was the one that successfully persuaded Johnson to join the Senators when he was sent to check out the young pitcher playing semi-pro baseball in Weiser, Idaho in 1907. The Zeenut series of cards was produced every year by the Collins Candy Co from 1911 to 1938, each set contained somewhere between 48 to nearly 200 cards and includes many players that were both future or former Major League players. The 1916 set has a distinct bluish tint to the background at top, simulating the look of blue sky and clouds. One of the better looking Zeenut sets. Please see scans for condition.
