Description: This is a nice blue green toned Canadian silver quarter from 1916. This is a key date for the series. You can see from the population at NGC for this compared to other neighboring years that this date is tough. 17 total graded for this year at NGC with 28 being the lowest for some other years, and other years in the 30's to 70's. Anyways, back when there was an easy way to compare circulating currency based on actual silver content, a Canadian quarter was about 95% of a US quarter. The Canadian quarter was a lot more than a shilling, but, a little less than a US quarter. According to NGC on 5/26/2023 there is just this coin in MS-61 and only 4 in higher grades. However, at PCGS there are a lot more. There are 53 in all grades at PCGS with 37 in higher grades than AU-58. There are 9 in AU-58 at PCGS. Mintage 459,070 out of Ottawa, Canada.
