Description: ACORN (OR ‘KONGE’ IN DANISH) IS ONE OF THE VERY EARLY GEORG JENSEN FLATWARE PATTERNS, introduced in 1915. Designed by Jensen friend and collaborator Johan Rodhe, Acorn was first exhibited at the San Francisco World’s Fair in 1915 and has been the most popular of the Art Nouveau (or ‘Skonvirke’ in Danish) patterns at Georg Jensen ever since. The acorn is of course a symbol of strength and potential, as well as good luck, in Scandinavian culture. It stands for the seed of something wonderful or powerful that is yet to develop. MEASURES 8 1/4” OR 21 CM tip to tip. The blade of the cheese server/slicer is stainless steel from Raadvad and the handle is handwrought 925 sterling silver. Ships same or next day after payment is received.
