Miniature Shakespeare. Shakespeare's Works, 40 volumes, bound in quarter morocco leather spines, with suede boards, spines with leather applied titles (missing to some volumes) with some rubbing and minor wear. Each volume 2 1/16th by 1 7/16th inch tall and wide (53 x 31mm), housed in a leather gilt decorated ‘holder’ and then contained in original miniature revolving wooden bookcase, two-tier, overall dimensions 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide by 4 inches deep (at the base) (152 mm tall x 115 mm x 115 mm wide at the base). The leather ‘holder’ is a strip of leather designed to hold 5 volumes per shelf. The ‘holder’ and books fit tightly into each shelf and the volumes and leather ‘holders’ can be a struggle to remove.
