Description: THE DICKENS EXHIBITION: Organized by the Dickens Fellowship compiled and edited by F. G. Kitton The catalog to the first-ever exhibition of its kind, held in London by the newly founded Dickens Fellowship in 1903. The exhibit featured some 433 items related to Charles Dickens, divided into the categories of Books; Relics (items owned/used by Dickens); Paintings, Drawings, etc.; Manuscripts and Autograph Letters. The catalog lists and briefly describes each item. The text also includes an interesting introduction by the editor and a list of exhibitors. This booklet remains in quite good shape for a softcover volume of this age. The covers show some toning, dust, and general handling; small owner signature at the top front corner; tears and chips missing along the spine. The text remains firmly bound. The pages are toned but otherwise have only minor signs of age or use -- no tears, stains, writing, creases, etc. A remarkable bit of Dickensiana, extremely rare in any condition. At present there is just one other copy available online, listing for twice this price. Measures 6.5" X 8.5", 67 pages. Ships promptly & securely.
