The book was published by the RALSTON HEALTH CLUB, teaching their methods for halth and wellness. This book also contains a Certificate for owning a RALSTON HEALTH CLUB FRANCHISE, awarded to E. H. MACK, owner of the Boston Store in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. The Certificate is dated December 26, 1900 and is No. 9903301. This number is also found on the front inside cover (see photo). The publication date 1900 is found on the title page. This is the First Edition. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Edmund Shaftesbury was Albert Webster Edgerly (December 20, 1852 - November 5, 1926) was a 19th and 20th century American social reform activist. He believed in euthanasia programs, a healthy diet, and the power of personal magnetism, and began the Ralstonism movement as a way to live out this lifestyle. He was an American attorney, actor, author, and health guru, founder of Ralstonism and the Ralston Health Club (under the name Everett Ralston), through which he acted as a promoter of various doctrines for self-improvement (generally under his authorial pseudonym Edmund Shaftesbury). I acquired this book from a private estate. I found if safely tucked away on a library bookshelf where it had been for decades. This book was gently handled over the years. CONDITION: This antique hard back book is complete and intact, in very good condition as evidenced by the photos. The covers are in very good condition with light corner wear. The inside covers are in very good condition, with no cracking or separation present at the hinges. The pages are in very good condition, the pages are crisp, all pages are tight to the binding. The spine is in very good condition with light shelf wear, the gold gilt lettering is easily read. This book comes from a smoke free home.
