Description: A really clean, appealing Morgan. AU58 may be our favorite grade, because it's as perfect as a coin can be while still showing (often microscopic) traces of wear. This makes it comparable to a high-grade uncirculated and more desirable than an MS61 or 62, for example. No substantial demerits anywhere on this coin. Minor rim toning, please refer to photos. Remember that New Orleans strikes of this vintage tend to be less sharp than Philly or SF; what looks like minor wear may well be softness of strike. Given that, this is a fairly strong example. Yeoman & Bowers on the 1900 Morgan: "A new reverse hub was introduced this year. Coins struck from dies made with this hub have less definition to the eagle's breast feathers...now a coin can be a full strike but lack full feathers." Free shipping & returns as always.
