Description: Pair of Albany Foundry Co. Cast Iron Bookends. These come from the estate of an 88 yr old gal. They have a medallion in the center that shows a woman around a large cauldron and a tree. These are manufactured by the Albany Foundry Co. Both bookends backs have a number 7 (model number) on the back. The felt on base has peeled off in some areas.The Albany Foundry began in 1897 after the Civil War. From 1900-1903, they were manufacturers & dealers of stoves. Then they expanded their product line to include other cast iron items such as bookends, doorstops, andirons and candle holders.
