Description: For sale today is an exceedingly rare series key 1899 $2 Silver Certificate known as the "Mini Porthole" or "Agriculture and Mechanics". This is the Fr 254 with Napier-Thompson signatures. This was a very short print signature of the 24 year run of this design and these are tough to find. Thompson was only in office for 3 months before he left and signatures changed again. This note features a low 6 digit serial. This was one of the most intricate and beautiful designs in US currency, and was also the last $2 silver certificate series to be printed. The note grades Fine in my opinion with a few issues. It has honest circulation from buying a lot of goods and services 125 years ago, but is completely intact. It does have a small edge tear from the top margin and a pinhole. Please check pics and judge condition for yourself. These have really been moving lately, don't miss this chance to pick up this scarce signature with lower serial number. This note lists for $520 if it was problem-free. Next cheapest on the market is $734! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
