Description: This listing is for a Rare and Hard-To-Find 14½"x17¾" Large Hardcover BOOK - JACKSON'S FAMOUS PICTURES OF THE WORLD'S FAIR subtitled "The White Flower of Perfect Architecture." Jackson was commissioned for the work by one of the chief architects of the White City, Daniel Burnham, and his official images were published in several editions and languages at the end of the 19th century. These editions all carried between sixty and seventy nine plates, and were usually bound in deluxe gilt boards and are relatively uncommon, particularly in good, original condition. This 1895 edition has the covers separated as well as the first page and the last three pages. I believe it is also missing the Title Page as well as the spine. But all the card stock photos pages as well as the 5 pp. written are here and were checked against the digital images at the Ball State University Digital Media Repository. Incomplete sets sell for $500.00-700.00 and the separate volumes for a bit less. Here are all the images, beautifully printed and available for individual framing, or the book can be restored with all the images intact. Please examine the photos for the best visual description of condition and ask questions if something is not clear.
