1890s PRETTY AMETHYST HAND BLOWN GLASS REVOLVER PISTOL FIGURAL WHISKEY BOTTLE

Description: This is an early hand blown amethyst glass pistol revolver figural whiskey nipper flask from the 1880s or 90s......PATENT PENDING lightly embossed in tiny letters on barrel...hand blown in mold....threaded collar with rough snapped off lip....beautiful amethyst color......7 1/4"long....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage, except naturally rough lip from when the blowpipe was just snapped off. A nice clean bottle with no haze. Cork stopper in mouth. Originally would have had a metal cap. These novelty figural whiskey flasks of the 1885-1900 period came in all shapes....guns, potatoes, fish,ear of corn, pigs, cigars, shoes, pretzels, etc. Saloon owners would purchase the empty bottles from glasshouses and fill the bottles with whiskey. These would then be given away to favorite customers at Christmas, birthdays and special events. Some of these figural pistol bottles also could have been for candy. ....
