Description: In this listing we are offering an interesting & visually pleasing group of three cast iron toy floor train cars. These iron train cars are from one of the largest sets of cast iron toy trains ever produced. These three cars are in a massive & truly impressive size. The total length for the three cars is 49 1/2 inches (with each car measuring 16 1/2 inches long). These cars were made by the Harris Toy Company circa 1890's or so. Each car has some wear to the original paint. All of the paint that is present is original & there is not any repaint. Two of the cars are painted in the same color scheme & one car is painted in a different color scheme. All of the three cars have the same wording, as well as a few little decorative designs, painted on both sides. The wording over the window sections on each car is: "New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore & Washington". Also, there are three words (which we cannot read) plus the number "1193" painted on each car on the lower section under the windows. Two of the cars, years ago for some unknown reason, had their wheel assembly sections neatly removed from under the cars. One of these two cars, apparently later on in its life, had some sloppy solder applied to where their wheel sections would have been. The two cars, which are missing their wheel assembly section, are 16 1/2 inches long by 3 1/8 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches tall. There is a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch chip missing off of the iron projection at the end of one of the cars. These two cars, which are painted in the same paint scheme have a significant majority of the original paint still present. The one car which has the wheel assembly section present is 16 1/2 inches long by by 3 1/8 inches wide by 4 1/8 inches tall. This car is taller than the other two cars because of the additional height due to the wheel assembly being present. This car with the wheel section assembly present has the original pieces present in the castings to hold the axel & wheels. However, the actual wheels & axels are old recast pieces which were never painted. This one car is painted in a different paint scheme from the other two cars & the paint is much more worn than the paint on the other two cars. A fascinating group of three iron toy train cars from one of the most impressive & massive of all American cast iron toy trains.
