Description: This is the October 1890 number of the New Review (London). This one neatly rescued by me from an old ravaged bound volume of the monthly. A very good copy with just a bit of edge wear to the paper wrappers. Nice clean text. 95 pages. Some highlights I find include: Rider Haggard and Andrew Lang's serial novel (Book II, Chapter 11, and Book III, Chapters 1 & 2) The World's Desire. See photo #2. Irish novelist, art critic, and sometime dramatist George Moore pens a 9-page essay on "Dramatic Censorship." Marxian theory enthusiast and promoter (who also happened to be a rabid antisemite) H.M. Hyndman's longer essay, headed "Socialism and Economics," here following the publication of one of the most influential monetary volumes of the era, Alfred Marshall's Principles of Economics.
