Description: This fantastic card was issued by the KINNEY BROS. Tobacco Co. as an insert premium in their brands of Tobacco and Cigarettes during 1889. These cards are from a fairly scarce series of 50 cards entitled , “NATIONAL DANCES ” This series is designated as N225 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. The front of the card features an image of a person dressed in a tradition garb and in the step of a traditional dance of the country they are representing. The background is done with a unique metallic copper color ink that makes the dancer really stand out. The back features a list of the 50 dances in the series. The series has two variants, one with a white border around the front of the card and one that is borderless This card features the Neapolitan, and is a white bordered variation . The Card measures 2 ¾ inches by 1 ½ inches approximately. The card does have a small print scuff at the front below one shoe, but it is free from major creases. I think it displays nicely I have scanned the card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.
