Collated complete.Written by Henry Seebohm, an amateur ornithologist, oologist and traveller. Seebohm travelled extensively, with his expeditions to the Yenisey Tundra of Siberia acting as the basis for his two works on the subject, 'Siberia in Europe' and 'Siberia in Asia', first published in 1882. The works were later combined in the posthumous publication 'The Birds of Siberia'. The first edition of this detailed ornithological study in Siberia. CONDITION In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally generally smart with bumping to the extremities and slight rubbing to the joints. The odd mark to the boards. Hinges slightly strained but firm. Slight loss to paste downs. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with marginal age toning and the occasional spot and handling mark. Bookseller label for 'W. Bone and Son' to rear paste down. Prior owner's ink inscription to half title.
