It was struck in 1875 at the Royal mint in London. Between 1864 and 1879 the mint engraved individual die numbers on the Florins, Shillings and Sixpence coins. This one shows the die number above the date on the reverse. See below. The "Shillings" of Victoria are interesting. They began with the "Young Head" here and this design lasted with minor adjustments from 1838 until the "Jubilee Head" was introduced in 1887. Finally, the "Veiled" or "Old Head" type was introduced in 1893. There are many different minor varieties to collect as well as by die number. Weight: 5.66 Grams, 23.6 Millimeters, .925 Silver.
