Description: This is a printer's Victorian advertising trade card. Has the wording on the front "Clinton building, McKean The Printer." On the back the following wording is inked on the back: "In account of Cold Water RR Fisk's Brooke to Hillsburgh". Cold Water Railroad was active in the 1870's in Michigan. There is a Hillsburgh in Canada. There is or was a Clinton Building in Rochester, NY. We haven't been able to figure out exactly what this note means. We found this card in a marvelous collection of early political paper and campaign buttons and had assumed at first that it had some political connotation as everything else was political in nature. But we haven't been able to figure out what, if any, connection it would have had to anything political. But it was saved in that collection. This measures 3 inches long by 1 7/16 inches. Has a crease through the middle & shows slight use. Please examine the clear photos that we have provided & purchase based on your own opinion as to the condition.
