Twelve Parables of our Lord Illustrated and Illuminated 1870 Illustrated with twelve colour lithographic illuminated medieval style illustrations to the Parables from sketches taken in the East by H R McEniry. The frontispiece is from a picture by John Jellicoe. The Illuminated borders to the text are from the Brevario Grimani in St Mark's Library, Venice. Illuminated texts and title-page are designed by Lewis Hind. The Binding is by Burn and Co (ticket applied on lower corner of rear pastedown). [12 colour plates and 12 colour plates of text, with frontispiece and title]. The entire book in colour lithography heightened in gold. **London. Macmillan and co 1870. Small folio, measuring; 31.6cm x 25.6cm. Bound in the original brown cloth with gilt decoration to the upper board, title to spine, colour tipped in circular illustration of Christ to the upper board, beveled boards. In the original gilt stamped binding. Holding firmly. Extremities rubbed, the upper corner to the front board chipped. light marks to the faces.
