Description: This 1866 book titled "An Account Of Sa-go-ye-wat-ha; Red Jacket And His People Iroquois Indians" is a rare and valuable addition to any collection of Americana. Written by J. Niles Hubbard and published by Joel Munsell's Sons in Albany, NY, this original book provides a detailed account of the Iroquois Indians' struggle during the Revolutionary War (1775-83). Red jacket was an 18 century native American Seneca, chief known for his negotiations with United States after the revolutionary war. William Stone published an interesting account of red jackets, life, early Iroquois history, Seneca, traditions, and culture, expeditions in Indian territory under Washington’s orders, early Indians in Canada and missionary voyages to red jacket. This work includes, considerable amounts of information on the revolutionary war. The book is bound in cloth- green. There is the previous owners nameplate based in inside the front board.: R. H. Thitherington. The book is warped - please see my pictures, I think from not being stored properly. Also a few embossed stamps and added black & gold English style plate. Otherwise it is in good condition. 509 pages including Appendix It is a must-have for collectors of antique books and lovers of American history. The subject matter is rich with detail and emotion, making it a great choice for anyone interested in the topic.
