Description: This listing is for a Napoleon III porcelain footed compote with its cover. This compote was made by the French porcelain maker Sevres exclusively for the King of France Napoleon III. The compote measures 3 3/4” in height with an additional 2.5” added with the cover. The width is 9 3/4” handle to handle. It has a gold “N” with the crown on both sides. The white porcelain compote is decorated on the rims and handle with applied gold. The item is marked on the bottom (see photos). This item is in very good condition for the age. There are no cracks, repairs or crazing on the base. The cover has two chips on the inside of the cover (see photos). Both pieces have wear to the gold from use.
