Description: 1863 Civil War Letter BLOCKADE Runner Charleston Brownsville Texas Gulf Battle / Very interesting letter of an event that happen just before the battle of Brownsville in Texas.. This man is like the Rhett Butler in the movie Gone with the Wind / He charters a sailboat out of New York and plans to take it down to the gulf Matormora Mexico, meet up with Hecho Sanchez Bolz. Letter written in April of 1863 and this is before the Union Army moved in on Brownsville. Here is a little history on the event. Battle of Brownnsville 1863 / He talks about making some money for his efforts and hopes he still has it by the end of the war.. I have taken some up close shots for you to view the letter.
