Description: Memoir of Elder Elijah Shaw by His Daughter (Letitia J. Shaw Brown). With an Introduction by Elder D. Milliard, Third Edition, Published by L.J. Shaw, Boston, 1852, frontis portrait, 377 pp, original blind cloth, 8 x 5.25”, 8vo. In fair condition. Boards are quite worn with heavy water droplet staining and severe fading. Original color of cloth is mostly gone. Moderate scuffing to extremities with crushing to spine ends. Blind stamp of Valentin H. Rabe dated 1/1983 on fly. Rabe (1930-2008) was History Professor Emeritus at SUNY Genesco. His specialization was in Christian Missionaries. Offsetting from frontis portrait onto tissue guard. Light dampness staining to bottom edge of title and frontis. Internally good with light toning and minor instances of foxing. Free of known markings. Binding intact. Please see photos.
