It was published in an 1849 edition of the Bilder Atlas (Leipzig: Brodhaus, 1849). Included is a facsimile copy of the title page with date for authenticity. These plates were designed under the direction of Johann Georg Heck as stated on the title page. The sheet is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. Nice rich tone! An interesting printing showing the primary ancient tribes of Europe including the Britons, Swedes, Goths, Franks, Vandals, Anglo Saxons, Danes. Size: The image area measures approximately 8 by 10 inches on a 9 1/4 by 11 1/2" (235x295mm) page with a margin all around as seen in the pic. Condition: The map is in Good condition for its age, blank on the reverse, basically as seen in the pic. There are a couple of light spots and smudges around the margins, otherwise it is very clean, see the pic for more on condition. It is a very nice strong rich impression that would frame up nicely.
