It contains all non-error printing varieties of Scott number 1844 Dorothea Dix. Mouse over the image above to see examples of the tagging. The stamps are from the FIRST GREAT AMERICANS series, which ran from 1980 to 1985. The black colored stamps were issued in panes of 100. They were the first Great Americans stamp assigned to the Cottrell press and later printed on the A Press causing perforation varieties. All Dix panes have floater selvage plate and marginal markings. The Bullseye perforated 11.2 floater selvage is only know on the Dix stamp and no other Great Americans. Irregular tagging block sizes are known on this issue. Dix stamps paid various makeup rates and other usages in combination with other stamps. All varieties of 1844 stamps went off sale at the Philatelic Sales Division by October 31, 1986. 1844v one-cent 1-cents $0.01 .01 1¢ 1c Please read this before bidding on this auction Stock photo.
