Description: All are in acceptable condition, No crack or chips, just crazing and discoloration 4 small plates - 5 3/8" Diameter3 small bowls - 4.5" Diameter 2 small mugs/cups - 2.5" Diameter at rim Background InformationThese antique plates were made by Charles Allerton and Sons of Staffordshire, England with a red transferware design called "Little Mae with Dog.” Little Mae (also called May) was Charles Allerton's granddaughter and he made 3 different sets depicting her throughout her life. This is from the second of those sets. All of the plates have the No. 766 (number) and Rd. No. 69456 (registration number) marked on the bottom. T. Charles’ signature marking on back was incorporated in 1831 but not used until 1859, so this set was made at the earliest years of 1831 as a later younger set would have said C.A.&SONS above the No. and ENGLAND below the Rd. No.
