Description: DATING TO THE 1830’S FASHIONED OF A BROWN POLISHED COTTON WITH COTTON TWILL BANDING TRIMMING ALL OF THE EDGES. FULLY HAND SEWN THROUGHOUT WITH GUSSET INSERTS ALL ALONG THE BUST WITH A FEATHER STITCH DETAILING AT THE BOTTOM POINT. BEAUTIFULLY EMBROIDERED BENEATH THE WAIST ON THE BOTTOM WITH GUSSET INSERTION ON THE BOTTOM IN BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR. BRASS GROMMETS IN THE REAR FOR LACING CLOSED. THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN AN OFF WHITE COTTON JEAN WITH A WIDE SLEEVE IN THE CENTER FRONT FOR ADDING A STIFF BUSK. CONDITION: ESTATE FRESH AND SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. THERE IS AGE STAINING SEEN TO THE COTTON THROUGHOUT IN A MARBLING OF COLOR WITH A WATERSTAIN ON THE CENTER FRONT ALONG THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE. LEFT SHOULDER STRAP HAS A FRAY TO THE PIPING ON THE TOP MIDDLE INNER SHOULDER AS WELL AS LOWER ON THE OUTER FRONT SIDE, NOTE THE IMAGES. THE CORSET IS PICTURED PINNED AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORN WITH TIES AS TRACE REMAINS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE.PIPING HAS COME FREE ON THE TOP LEFT BUST. AN EXCELLENT, EARLY 1830’S CORSET.
