Description: Rare original 1824 copy of "The Ladies' Companion, containing first, Politeness of Manners and Behaviour, from the French of the Abbé de Bellegarde. Second, Fenelon on Education; Third, Miss More's Essays; Fourth, Dean Swift's Letter to a Young Lady Newly Married; Fifth, Moore's Fables for the Female Sex. Carefully selected and revised by a lady, in the county of Worcester, Mass." The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild soiling and wear. The binding is good and sound. The back fep is no longer present, but it's not too noticeable as the back blank flyleaf is still there. There is the small original book seller label adhered to the front pastedown as well as a name inscription to the front fep. The interior is toned from age with some foxing, soiling & grubbiness. A few pages have some marginal chips or tears which does not affect the text. Along with that there may be the occasional page with some kind of other typical imperfection such as a creased page corner, etc. The book is a fairly small volume which measures approximately 5 7/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches and is 156 pages long with an illustrated title page. Please look at the photos to further note the condition.
