Description: Presented is a nice English Georgian sterling silver gravy or sauce ladle. This ladle was made by Solomon Royes & John East Dix, and dates to 1818. The ladle is done in a handsome, classical form, with a distinctive downward turn to the handle and a pip on the back of the terminal. The front of the handle has a monogram of JMH in elegant script. This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter c for 1818, King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Solomon Royes & John East Dix.
