Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE GREEK TRAGIC THEATRE: Containing Aeschylus by DR POTTER. A New Edition, Revised and corrected throughout by the Translator; with A Dissertation on Antient Tragedy by Thomas Francklin in Five Volumes VOL I CONTAINING AESCHYLUS printed for John Walker; T Payne; Vernor, Hood, & Sharpe; etc., etc., London, in 1809. This volume on Aeschylus includes "Prometheus Chain'd"; "The Supplicants"; "Against Thebes"; "Agamemnon"; "The Cheophorae"; "The Furies"; and "The Persians". There is a full-page Plan of a Greek Theatre at the beginning of the book. Tan marbled leather boards with a gilt border. Minor marks and wear along the edges. Brown title and number blocks with gilt lettering and gilt decoration on the spine. Minor tears to the leather with the spine coming away from the text block. Red speckled page edges. Light foxing to endpapers and foxing to pages.
