Both spines show cracking and chipping but are still legible. Some binding exposed at tail of vol. 1. Front joint of vol. 1 is cracked. Provenance in ink of Joseph Evans on front endpaper of vol. 1. Marginalia in ink on front pastedown of vol. 2. Provenance in ink of John Nelson on title page of vol. 2. 535 to rear endpaper of vol. 1 has a tear that runs into the text, but does not affect readability. George Fox (July 1624 - 13 January 1691) was an English Dissenter, who was a founder of the Religious Society of Friends, commonly known as the Quakers or Friends. Fox was arrested and jailed numerous times for his beliefs and spent his final decade working in London to organize the expanding Quaker movement.
