Nicholas Carlisle was an English antiquary and librarian who wrote several topographical dictionaries of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland as well as an historical account of Charitable Commissioners and of Foreign Orders of Knighthood. CONDITION Rebacked in half calf bindings with marbled boards. Externally, in excellent condition with just some minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with occasional scattered spotting and some tidemarks to Volume II. Pages i to x neatly removed to Volume I.
