This is a cracker it comes in the form of a George111 Half Penny token of John Howard F.R.S The front has the bist of John Howard and the reverse side has a seated woman surrounded by riches instructing a young boy with a key to unlock the prison doors. The wording around the coin saying Remember the Debtors in Goal and on the inside of that in smaller wtiting is the text Go Forth Around the rim is the text - Payable in London and Dublin. As seen in the photos it comes in used but good condition for its age . John Howards lifes work was the study of prisons and he wrote a book called The State of the Prisons in England and Wales. Please have a good look at the photos before bidding but you will not be disappointed.
