Comprising the works in prose and verse by Edmund Waller, English politician and poet. Waller was known to be one of the longest serving members of the English House of Common, and for his poem 'Song (Go, Lovely Rose)'. His verse was one of the first examples of heroic couplets. His earlier writings recount events during the 1620s.Edited by Mr. Fenton. Illustrated with a frontispiece and two plates, one of which is folding. ESTC Reference: T124641 CONDITION In a full calf binding with marbled endpapers. Externally smart with some shelf wear and some rubbing to the spine, as well as a minor scuffing. The head and tail of the spine are slightly chipped, the headband visible. With a bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Kimberly' dated 1838. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are clean with only a touch of age toning, as usual. Illustrated with a frontispiece and an engravings, as well as a folding plate.
