Description: 1703 Luther Bible in German printed in Nurnberg This Bible is absolutely huge! It measures just under 15" x 10" and is about 6.5" thick. The binding looks loose on the spine, which is not surprising given the thickness. Someone has recovered the boards in new leather. The spine looks to have been glued to a new piece of leather for stability and what appears to be either plastic or light wood pieces have been glued to another piece of leather overlaying it for decoration? The Bible feels solid enough that it can be handled in this state, but it would be wonderful to see it restored to a period leather binding! Please review pictures for a better idea of the condition.
