Description: Here we have a nice 14 karat solid yellow gold custom made ladies ring featuring a round, bezel set amethyst and four round full brilliant cut diamonds. The amethyst weighs 1.35 carats and exhibits a wonderful, saturated deep purple color. You may notice a little color zoning in the photographs (I oriented the stone to show the effect). This is something that I looked for when selecting amethysts from parcels because the gem trade has instances where synthetic amethysts are "salted" into parcels of genuine stones; the zoning and other inclusions are indicators of natural origin. This color zoning is only noticeable when looking at the gem at an angle. The gem is otherwise eye clean. The diamonds average 1.6 mm in diameter with an actual combined weight of 0.07 carat. These diamonds have an average color graded at I/J and clarity at SI-2 with good overall cut. The amethyst and the diamonds are all 100% genuine, natural, untreated, and unenhanced. Amethyst is February's birthstone. The mounting is by a great company located in Lafayette, Louisiana called Stuller Settings. This ring was customized in our shop by creating a bezel setting for the amethyst and by bead setting the added diamonds. The ring is currently finger size 6.5 but is easily sizable by any competent jeweler. This ring weighs 5.5 grams; very substantial!
