Tech Tip - Most all 6 volt control switches are designed to carry the heavy amperage of 6-volts and should work fine on 12-volts. If however, your switch gets hot when in use, you have the odd exception. In that case simply install the reduce before the switch. The reducer can be mounted in any position. Step 1) Disconnect the positive cable from the battery. Step 2) Carefully mount the voltage reducer inside of the metal heater air duct housing on the air exit side (or any non-flammable surface) using pair of sheet metal screws (6 x 3/8). The 6 volt load can be connected to either end of the reducer using insulated (22-18 gauge) female spade terminal connectors . Step 3) Attach the switch end to the remaining terminal end of the voltage reducer using an insulated 22-18 gauge female spade terminal connectors. Step 4) Reconnect the battery. NOTE: If you have a POSITIVE GROUND system, this unit may not function properly. We have had a few circumstances where this unit has not worked on positive ground systems. Caution: This voltage reducer will become very warm during normal use. Do not mount this voltage reducer on or near any flammable area.
