They are made from finely dispersed ground pigments and binders containing gum Arabic that is acknowledged to be the best natural adhesive for watercolors. The box itself is made from lightweight plastic and has a brush storage and detachable lid that can be used as a palette. Squirrel, kolinsky, as well as synthetic brushes can be applied for work. Great transparency and purity of colors with excellent tinting strength and working properties. Each pan has light fastness (*,**,***) and color index (international code of the pigment used). This is how the history of “Nevskaya Palitra” started. The enterprise had been functioning very successfully for several decades, and in 1934, it became Leningrad Artists’ Paints Plant on the initiative of the Tretyakov Gallery’s administration. Kiplik, director of the All-Russian Academy of Arts U. Brodsky, as well as many organizations such as the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.
