10 Adams American Elderberry 8-10" Long Fresh Plant CUTTINGS Easy to Root

Description: 10 ADAMS Elderberry Cuttings (Sambucus Canadensis Nigra) You will be receiving ten unrooted Adams Elderberry cuttings that are 8-10" long. They will be freshly cut hardwood cuttings non dormant. Each cutting will contain 2-4 nodes. They will be shipped via USPS. The cuttings were taken from the large plants that are shown in the pictures. Sambucus canadensis nigra, the American black elderberry, Canada elderberry, or common elderberry, is a fast growing, prolific species of elderberry native to a large area of North America east of the Rocky Mountains. It grows in a variety of conditions. This plant will grow in shade, but thrives in full to partial sun. We have found that it requires minimal care besides annual pruning and the occasional watering if the weather has been dry for a long period of time. It is a deciduous suckering shrub growing to 10 feet or more tall. In the summer it produces larges clumps of white flowers that are very attractive to bees and butterflies. Later in the summer they produce small, black berries. The berries are edible but mildly toxic if uncooked. Traditional methods of consuming elderberry includes jams, jellies, and syrups, all of which cook down the fruit and remove any toxins. It is also used for winemaking as well.
